Best wifi hose timer
Make your garden smarter with these WiFi hose timers.
In an effort to make the world automated and with a desire to help save some water, WiFi hose timers are now a thing. They work really well too. Having a smart timer, that you can control from your phone is incredibly helpful to keep your grass and flowers growing healthily.
Orbit 21004 B-hyve Smart Hose Faucet Timer
My favorite smart garden company
I am a fan of the B-hyve system from Orbit. The small indoor receiver is unobtrusive and both are easy to set up. I really like the B-Hyve app as well as it adjusts for rain and frost, as well as having different profiles depending on the season. This means you can set it up for an entire year and hopefully never have to worry.
If you do feel your plants need a little extra you can always use the app to give them a nice boost of water.
LinkTap Wireless Water Timer
Huge battery life
The LinkTap is very similar to the B-Hyve and would be an equally smart choice. The app is a little less full-featured, but what it lacks in that regard, it makes up in massive battery life. The LinkTap will last over two years with a good set of AA batteries in it, and that is huge. It means you don't have to worry about it at all. Just set it and go.
AZFUNN Wi-Fi Hose Faucet Timer
The probe adds so much information
Self-named the "Intelligent Irrigation Control System," this setup from AZFUNN has a couple of nice tricks up its sleeve. The biggest and best addition is the soil sensor. It sticks into the ground and tells your controller the temperature and soil humidity, so it can better regulate your water timers. I love this feature, it makes the whole thing seem far smarter than it's competitors.
Netro Pixie Smart Hose Faucet Timer
Harness the power of the sun!
If, like me, you live somewhere with plenty of sun, then the Netro Pixie Smart is an excellent choice for a timer. The big solar panel on the front can supply the unit with enough energy to work all day and all year round. The Pixie also comes with a lifetime cloud service that lets you keep track of all your watering data.
It gets the hose again
Why you can trust Gardeningetc
Whether you choose to use a sprinkler controller or a hose timer, a good smart device can not only save you water and time, it can also save you money, and that is never to be sniffed at.
If I had to spend my own money on a hose timer it would be on the B-Hyve from Orbit. I love the simple setup, the excellent app, and the smart way it manages my water. If you are looking for something with even more in-depth analytics then the AZFUNN Wi-Fi Hose Faucet Timer. The soil probe gives you so much more information than you ever thought you would need, but works perfectly to save you water and money.
