Changing seasons bring fallen leaves, and sometimes they'll drift so deep that you'll despair of ever raking them up on your own. But, thanks to the growing popularity of leaf blowers, you can banish heaps of dead leaves in seconds or vacuum them up for mulching. Our best overall cordless leaf blower vacuum is from K I M O., a new brand to me. Don't let that deter you, though. Its battery is good for 1,000 charges and provides 20 minutes of continuous use after just 45 minutes of fast charging—it'll be a cinch to blow or vacuum leaves and debris around your home. You can even get this leaf blower with extra batteries or a string trimmer (also known as a weedwhacker). I included a spectrum of brands, colors, and capabilities, so take a look at our picks below and never dread yard work again.

K I M O. cordless leaf blower vacuum with 20V battery

Staff pick

Our favorite cordless leaf blower is made by K I M O., and there are multiple bundles, including extra batteries and other accessories.

Pros:

  • Ultra-light, only 2 pounds
  • 2-in-1 blower and vacuum
  • Works on snow and dust
  • Reusable collection bag

Cons:

  • Doesn't mulch
  • Doesn't run for very long at all

Today's staff pick is made by K I M O. is no lightweight, despite clocking in at only 2 pounds. It's a 2-in-1 blower and vacuum, and you can opt for bundles with extra lithium batteries or a weedwhacker. Heck, you can even unclog your gutters with this leaf blower, thanks to a tube extender that doubles its reach. The collection bag is intended to be reusable, but to avoid clogs, you might want to handle any wet or soggy gutter contents before switching to dry ones.

WORX 12-amp trivac 3-in-1 leaf blower, vacuum, and mulching system

Make fast work of many yard chores

This triple threat from WORX is more than just a leaf blower and vacuum—you can mulch 18 bags of leaves into a single bag with its all-metal device.

Pros:

  • Ergonomic one-hand operation
  • 18:1 mulch breakdown ratio
  • 2 speeds: 80mph, and 210mph
  • Generously sized collection bag

Cons:

  • On the heavier side, it's 9.3 pounds
  • Not cordless, but makes up for it in features

WORX really knocked it out of the park with their 3-in-1 leaf blower, vacuum, and mulcher. Not many blowers offer mulching, and it's a crucial feature if you have an enormous amount of leaves to pick up. Another plus is WORX's high-capacity debris bag. It can collect a bushel of leaves without running out of space. That greater capacity also boosts its mulching ratio. You can mulch a whopping 18 bags of leaves into a single pack, which is incredible if you hate filling bag after paper bag of leaves. Now, I realize that this particular blower isn't cordless, but the tradeoff is worth it. No waiting for battery bricks to charge, you get endless operation time, and its 12-foot cord is compatible with extension cords, making it easier to work your way across the yard.

Variable speed

Greenworks 40-volt brushless cordless leaf blower and vacuum

Harness all of the power you need

Greenworks designed a leaf blower vacuum with six speeds to choose from, built with a brushless motor to provide increased torque.

Pros:

  • Choose 4Ah or 12Ah battery
  • Can be bundled with a pole saw
  • Six settings of variable speed
  • Collects four full bags on single charge

Cons:

  • 21-minute runtime for 4Ah battery
  • 12Ah model is corded
  • Weighs 15 pounds

Greenworks did an excellent job designing their ergonomically-handled leaf blower. It's compatible with over 70 of the brand's other corded power tools and can blast air in blowing mode at 235mph. It's powerful enough to blow wet leaves, as well as dry. Greenworks offers this cordless blower with a 4Ah rechargeable lithium battery (the model I chose) and corded, with a 12Ah motor. The collection bag isn't especially capacious, but since you'll get only 21 minutes of maximum runtime, I don't think it's a deal-breaker considering that you can fill four bags' worth on a single charge.

Wide range of speeds

Toro ultra-plus leaf blower vacuum and mulcher

Shoulder strap for comfort

Variable-speed leaf blowers often have only two settings, but Toro's 12Ah UltraPlus 3-in-1 has six.

Pros:

  • 1.5-bushel bag capacity
  • Six speeds up to 250mph
  • Shred ring mulches
  • Vacuums 410 cubic feet per minute

Cons:

  • Extension cords are sold separately
  • Compatible Leaf Collection System is sold in a different bundle

Toro is well-known for its snowblowers and lawnmowers, among other power tools. So, it makes sense that they'd add a leaf blower to their repertoire and even more sense that they'd pack it with valuable features. For example, you can vacuum with their Ultra-Plus leaf blower, as well as mulch; these three features have six different speed settings to choose from as well. A bag's attached to catch the leaves, and it has a 1.5-bushel capacity that's easy to release through a zipper on the bottom. While Toro's product isn't cordless, it plays nice with accessories like extension cords, leaf collection systems, and replacement bags.

Gas-powered

Husqvarna 2-cycle gas handheld leaf blower vacuum

Fully harnessed support

Cruise control isn't just for cars—check out Husqvarna's gas-powered, mulching leaf blower vacuum.

Pros:

  • 16.9-ounce fuel capacity
  • 16:1 mulching ratio
  • 170mph air velocity
  • Lightweight with comfortable handle

Cons:

  • Runs on gas, if you prefer electric or battery power, look elsewhere

If you're looking for a cordless leaf blower vacuum with comparable strength to the corded variety, then look no further than Husqvarna's gas-powered 125BVx. It's handheld, created with a comfortable handle and a load-reducing backpack harness. It mulches at a 16:1 ratio, blows leaves at up to 170mph, and there's an included Vac-Kit for vacuuming debris. You might be surprised that I included a gas-powered blower on this list, but Husqvarna designed their X-TORQ engines to reduce emissions by up to 75 percent. Knowing that you can use it with a bit more peace of mind. Fun fact? Husqvarna makes outstanding sewing machines, which endeared me to the brand in general.

Bottom line

Why you can trust Gardeningetc Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

As you can see, there aren't many cordless leaf blower vacuums that pack the same amount of power that traditional corded ones do. That affected my picks, and while our best overall from K I M O. is cordless, you might lose out on a seamless yard work session by needing to recharge it after 20 minutes of continuous use. That said, it's an excellent option if you're insistent on a cordless model and need it to be lightweight. This blower vacuum is barely over 2 pounds and has batteries rated for up to 1000 total charges.

If a heavy blower isn't a deal-breaker, then Greenwork's all-in-1 cordless 40Ah leaf blower is the one to buy. This lean, green yard work machine runs far quieter than its competitors (even while vacuuming and mulching), thanks to a brushless motor that also serves to boost torque during use. For folks looking for a cordless blower that doesn't require constant recharging during a long workday, Husqvarna's gas-powered leaf blower vacuum and mulcher should be your pick. You can even put it on cruise control and relax a bit as you blast away leaves.
